Ikea Work Experience
Ikea Bristol has been supporting a work experience project within the co-worker canteen. The Students are gaining knowledge experience and skills that will help them one day to achieve a paid job within the community. The work that they do is recorded as evidence for them to gain a work right Certificate awarded by ASDAN.
We have been working on topics such as time keeping and personnel appearance and the importance this has in view of the employer and the employee.
As well as the students benefiting from this experience Alex a member of the Ikea staff who is responsible for the delivery of the co-worker canteen service is working towards a Community Volunteering Qualification level 1 which will give him a better understanding of working with young adults with special needs.
We feel as a charity that this is a win win situation with both partners gaining from this project.
