Work experience at Avon Valley Railway
Our partnership with Avon Valley Railway is a great example of charities working collaboratively. On a rota basis a group of students go down to the station and undertake a sheltered work experience carrying out tasks such as gardening and litter picking. It is a fantastic opportunity for the students to get a taste of the world of work and there is always an enthusiastic response from them when we arrive. After some hard work the students have a well earned drink and toast in the brilliant buffet, this is definitely their highlight of the morning!
To thank Bitton Railway for their hospitality the Business Enterprise group have been responsible for producing some of the signs displayed around the station and also advertising and display banners used to publicise their events. The group who produce these goods can use this experience as evidence for their coursework. In addition we have produced canvas prints of steam trains and associated images for sale and on display in the buffet
