February News

Welcome to 2010

Welcome to the new look PROPS news. Its been a long time..but what have we been up to?

To begin with I hope you have visited our new website at http://www.propsforward.org Here you can find all the information you need about our successful inclusive special needs charity, and download our latest annual report.

Existing members will notice the huge progress we have made in supporting the special needs community, and I am pleased to announce that from March 31st the Props organisation will be moving to its own premises at the Vassels Centre. This will be our base to develop the charity and deliver our inclusive education programmes to the community. Find out more about these on our website.

Without your support this fantastic achievement would simply not be possible, and we extend a sincere thank you to all our members for making this possible. Hopefully from September we will be able to accommodate special needs students to follow our unique community based opportunities.

Membership

This is vital for us to survive. and here at PROPS we want to make your membership valuable. We want you to get involved in what we do. To begin with visit our sponsors section and see how our supporters make a REAL difference. There a number of ways in which you can help:

• Take part in our sporting activities
• Check that your membership is still current
• Volunteer to get involved in our projects
• Introduce new members and potential sponsors

From this month we will be holding a member draw, with exciting prizes available to members. The first draw is for a months full membership of health club, Welsh Back. This will be drawn next week ( WB/14th Feb ) so be sure to check your email. We are also offering a full 15% discount on all Briar Biz products to Props members.

Governing Body

I have carefully selected our Governing Body with the aim of taking our charity onward to professional status, and with the aim of delivering a first class inclusive and educational service. I would like to introduce the following personnel who are driving our charity forward with the same determination and vigour in which they conduct their own business:

Martin Gurney   ( Haines Watts Partner )
Mark Wilson     ( McArthur Wilson)
Rachel Mellor     ( Independent )
Scott Hutchinson ( Hutchinson Consultancy )
Chris Miller       ( HP)
John Tasker       ( Tasker and Stone)

This experienced team of senior managers are overseeing a unique and refreshing team of educational practitioners who are delivering a range of inclusive projects, examples of which can be seen on our sponsors page ( case studies).

I am sure you agree with myself, and with bodies such as ASDAN and Ofsted that together we have created something to be very proud of and something that is creating waves in our own community.

Next Steps

We now need you to champion our cause, so what can you do? Well, here’s some activity coming up:
